| MoReq Governance Board |
Purpose
MoReq2010The MoReq2010 specification contains Modular Requirements for Records Systems. The functional and non-functional requirements in the MoReq2010 specification are highly modular and are divided into requirements for each of the core services plus requirments for additional (optional) modules. The MoReq2010 specification also includes a rich metadata model, a complete XML export data schema and comprehensive test materials and testing framework. The testing framework makes it possible to conduct compliance testing at an accredited MoReq2010 test centre, leading to the official certification of MoReq2010 Compliant Records Systems (MCRS) against the MoReq2010 standard. The MoReq2010 specification was developed by the DLM Forum. For more information on the MoReq2010 specification follow these links:
StructureNew bye laws for the MoReq Governance Board (MGB) for MoReq2010 were established by the DLM Forum Executive Committee in May 2012 to safeguard the integrity of the MoReq2010 specification in its use and ongoing development. A short primer on the new MGB is available here.
The structure of the MoReq Governance Boards consists of four permanent panels and a number of project panels that are formed only for the duration of a specific project. The Chair and Vice Chair of the MGB, and other representatives, are appointed by the DLM Forum Executive Committee. Each permanent panel has a Convenor who coordinates its activities and is elected annually by the members of that panel to attend and represent the panel at MGB meetings. ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities of the four permanent panels can be summarised as follows:
Any representative of a member of the DLM Forum may join one or more of the permanent panels of the MGB and will be included in the panel’s programme of activities, which includes reviewing, advising on, and approving new MoReq2010 modules. The MGB follows a best practice development model for IT standards bodies, for the creation of additional modules to the MoReq2010 specification. The MGB aims to issue an updated version of the MoReq2010 specification on an annual basis, incorporating additional plug-in and extension modules and other new developments.
